Dear members, subscribers, friends, and supporters of ICTM worldwide!

A rich and exciting year in the history of our favourite ethnomusicological society is coming to an end, thus creating the best possible timing for looking both into the twelve months behind us and into those ahead.

In 2012, ICTM recorded a new growth both in the number of its members and in their geographical distribution. Eigth new Liaison Officers and two National Committees were confirmed, and twelve Study Group Symposia were held.

Behind us is also the 44th volume of the Yearbook for Traditional Music, which was delivered to members and subscribers one month ahead of schedule. Two electronic issues of the Bulletin of the ICTM were circulated in April and October. Our website's contents were refreshed, and a Facebook presence was also established.

Activities leading to the 42nd ICTM World Conference in Shanghai, the central focus of our attention in 2013, are gradually intensifying, and we hope to meet most of you at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music in July.

Last but not least, do not miss the news about the changes to Corporate Memberships and many other benefits for members in good standing!
